Privacy notice

Privacy

This notice describes the site's current technology: static hosting, privacy-oriented audience measurement and email contact.

Controller

Email: info@matthiasramahi.de

Website delivery

The site is delivered through Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Avenue #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA. Connection and log data needed to deliver and protect the site may be processed, including IP address, time, requested URL, referrer, browser, device, status and diagnostic data.

Where this processing is our responsibility, it is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR for secure and reliable operation. Vercel may process data in the United States; details are available in Vercel's privacy notice.

Email contact

When you email us, we process your address, message and voluntarily supplied details to answer the request and, where relevant, document a rights or correction case. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR where the communication concerns a contract; otherwise Article 6(1)(f) GDPR applies.

Privacy-oriented audience measurement with Umami

We use the open-source analytics software Umami through analytics.contextter.com to understand which pages are read, how visitors reach the site, whether the site performs reliably and which deliberately marked links are used. Nightmare Mode and Contextter are both operated by Matthias Ramahi. This is not advertising tracking and the data is not combined with profiles from other websites.

Umami records page path without query string or fragment, page title, referrer, browser language, device and browser characteristics, approximate location derived from the connection, screen size and performance measurements. Marked events record only a fixed event name and non-personal properties such as content target, placement or selected language. We do not send names, email addresses, form contents, account IDs or user-provided text to Umami.

The tracker does not set cookies. The incoming IP address and user agent are used by Umami to derive a rotating anonymous session identifier and approximate location; according to Umami's technical documentation, the IP address itself is not stored. We do not use Umami's distinct-ID or session-identification functions. The tracker respects the browser's Do Not Track signal.

Processing is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is limited audience measurement, technical quality control and improvement of the site's editorial paths. Analytics records are reviewed periodically and deleted when they are no longer required for these comparisons. You may object to this processing at any time by emailing the controller; enabling Do Not Track in the browser also prevents the tracker from sending data from that browser.

Technical details are available in the Umami metric definitions. The analytics service is loaded only on nightmaremode.net, excludes URL search parameters and fragments, and does not serve advertising.

Your rights

Subject to the GDPR, you may have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. You may also complain to a data protection authority; the competent authority in North Rhine-Westphalia is the LDI NRW.
